The video below is an example of music and movement. “Tideo” was a fiddle tune and party song printed as early as 1911, but probably derives from an older fiddle tune “I Love Sugar In My Toddy-O.” - Through singing and movement, the students are exploring different types of music repetoires - Learning about forms of the music, rhythmic patterns, body percussion, and culture of the "Tideo". - Working on their gross-motor skills through movements to the song. |

Exposure to Various Cultures
As part of learning music, learning about history and culture is very important part of Music National Standards. Last few weeks of my student teaching, I taught a Korean Unit where the students got a chance to learn fan dance, traditional games, songs, and foods.
